The Valley of Flowers National Park, set against the majestic Himalayan peaks, offers tourists an ethereal view and a memorable experience. The Valley of Flowers National Park, which covers an area of 87 square kilometres in the Chamoli district and is one of the two core zones of the Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve (the other being the Nanda Devi National Park), is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Valley Of Flower
As the name suggests, Valley of Flowers is a destination where nature blooms in full glory offering a breathtaking experience. Exotic flowers (over 600 species) like orchids, poppies, primulas, marigold, daisies and anemones are an eye-catching spectacle. Sub-alpine forests birch and rhododendron cover parts of the park’s area.
The trek to the valley offers eye-catching spectacles like cascading waterfalls and wild streams. Situated at an altitude of around 3,600 m above the sea level, the valley is also home to such rare and amazing wildlife species like the gray langur, the flying squirrel, the Himalayan weasel, and black bear, the red fox, the lime butterfly, the snow leopard and Himalayan monal, to name a few.
When should you go?
The ideal time to see the blooms here is between May and October, when the landscape transforms into a floral wonderland, while the peak flowering season is from July to September.

The exhilarating camping experience is the only thing you will miss out on on this expedition. But, guess what? We’ve gathered a handful of the valley’s greatest guest homes to provide you with an unforgettable experience.
You will be assigned rooms in the reserved guesthouse on a sharing basis on all days. You won’t have to worry about your accommodation or food once you’re with us. One of the additional benefits of the guesthouses is the attached washroom facilities, which are not available at the camp.
How can you reach valley of flower
By Air The closest airport to Valley of Flowers is Jolly Grant Airport, however roads only link up to Govind Ghat, from where you must hike for 16 kilometres to reach Valley of Flowers.
Taking the Train
Rishikesh is the closest railway station to Valley of Flowers. To go to Govind Ghat, use a bus or a taxi. On NH58, 273 kilometres before Govindghat, is Rishikesh railway station.
By Car
Motorable roads connect the Valley of Flowers to Govind Ghat.
What is the difficulty level of the Valley of Flowers trek?
This hike is categorised as easy to moderate. The walk in the valley is relatively basic and straightforward. Especially during the holidays.
Valley Of Flower Itinerary
Itinerary Overview
The first day is spent travelling from Rishikesh to Joshimath (253 Kilometers, 8 Hours Drive)
2nd Day: Drive from Joshimath to Pulna (22 km) | Ghangaria Trek (09 Kilometers)
3rd Day: Trek from Ghangaria to the Valley of Flowers and returning (10 Kilometers)
4th Day: Trek from Ghangaria to Hemkund Sahib and return (14 Kilometers)
5th Day: Ghangaria to Pulna (09 km) | Joshimath Drive (22 Kilometers)
6th Day: Rishikesh to Joshimath (253 Kilometers, 08 Hours Drive)
Rishikesh / Dehradun / Haridwar To Joshimath
The first day is spent travelling from Rishikesh to Joshimath (253 Kilometers, 8 Hours Drive)
y 8.30 am, the group will have gathered at the pick-up location.
Following the introduction of the trek leader, a group introduction and tour briefing will take place.
We’ll continue on to Joshimath later.
We’ll pass via Devprayag, Srinagar, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, and Panch Prayag in the middle.
By the evening, we’ll be in Joshimath.
Dinner will be served after check-in, followed by an overnight stay in Joshimath.
Rishikesh/Haridwar/Dehradun
Drive from Joshimath to Pulna (22 km) | Ghangaria Trek (09 Kilometers)
We’ll leave after breakfast towards Pulna village.
We’ll begin walking towards the first checkpoint, Ghangaria Village, after we get at our destination.
By the afternoon, we’ll be in Ghangaria Village.
After we’ve checked into our hotel, we’ll have lunch.
At the evening, dinner will be given, followed by an overnight stay in Ghangaria Village.
Ghangaria to Valley of Flowers Trek and back (10 Kilometers)
After an early breakfast, we’ll head out for a Forest Check Post.
Midway, we’ll have a packed lunch during one of the break sessions.
On reaching Forest Check Post, we’ll move towards Valley of Flowers, which is the main attraction of the whole trek.
After a while, we’ll trek down from Valley of Flowers to Ghangaria village.
Dinner will be served in the evening followed by an overnight stay in Ghangaria Village.
Ghangaria to Hemkund Sahib Trek and back (14 Kilometers)
Breakfast will be served in the morning.
After which, we’ll head out for a trek to Hemkund Sahib(World’s Highest Gurudwara).
Midway, we’ll be having a packed lunch during one of the breaks.
We’ll reach our destination by the afternoon and will stay for a while before trekking back to Ghangaria Village.
Dinner will be served in the evening followed by an overnight stay in Ghangaria Village.
Drive Joshimath from Ghangaria to Pulna (09 kilometres) (22 Kilometers)
We’ll leave after an early breakfast and travel to Pulna village.
When you get at Pulna, switch to Joshimath, which will be our next stop.
Dinner will be served when we get in Joshimath in the evening, followed by an overnight stay in Joshimath.
Joshimath to Rishikesh (253 Kilometers, 08 Hours Drive)
We’ll leave after breakfast for Rishikesh.
By the evening, we’ll be at Rishikesh.
This is where the group disbands.
This is where the Valley of Flowers Trek comes to a conclusion.
