Valley Of Flower

As the name suggests, Valley of Flowers is a destination where nature blooms in full glory offering a breathtaking experience. Exotic flowers (over 600 species) like orchids, poppies, primulas, marigold, daisies and anemones are an eye-catching spectacle. Sub-alpine forests birch and rhododendron cover parts of the park’s area.

 

The trek to the valley offers eye-catching spectacles like cascading waterfalls and wild streams. Situated at an altitude of around 3,600 m above the sea level, the valley is also home to such rare and amazing wildlife species like the gray langur, the flying squirrel, the Himalayan weasel, and black bear, the red fox, the lime butterfly, the snow leopard and Himalayan monal, to name a few.

When should you go?

The ideal time to see the blooms here is between May and October, when the landscape transforms into a floral wonderland, while the peak flowering season is from July to September.

You will be assigned rooms in the reserved guesthouse on a sharing basis on all days. You won’t have to worry about your accommodation or food once you’re with us. One of the additional benefits of the guesthouses is the attached washroom facilities, which are not available at the camp.

How can you reach valley of flower

By Air The closest airport to Valley of Flowers is Jolly Grant Airport, however roads only link up to Govind Ghat, from where you must hike for 16 kilometres to reach Valley of Flowers.

Taking the Train

Rishikesh is the closest railway station to Valley of Flowers. To go to Govind Ghat, use a bus or a taxi. On NH58, 273 kilometres before Govindghat, is Rishikesh railway station.

By Car

Motorable roads connect the Valley of Flowers to Govind Ghat.

What is the difficulty level of the Valley of Flowers trek?
This hike is categorised as easy to moderate. The walk in the valley is relatively basic and straightforward. Especially during the holidays.

The first day is spent travelling from Rishikesh to Joshimath (253 Kilometers, 8 Hours Drive)
2nd Day: Drive from Joshimath to Pulna (22 km) | Ghangaria Trek (09 Kilometers)
3rd Day: Trek from Ghangaria to the Valley of Flowers and returning (10 Kilometers)
4th Day: Trek from Ghangaria to Hemkund Sahib and return (14 Kilometers)
5th Day: Ghangaria to Pulna (09 km) | Joshimath Drive (22 Kilometers)
6th Day: Rishikesh to Joshimath (253 Kilometers, 08 Hours Drive)
